Health Communication & Design
I translate complex scientific and medical information into accessible, impactful design—empowering patients, supporting nonprofits, and strengthening communities.
I’m Noreen Hosny, a recent Princeton graduate with a degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Visual Arts. As a cancer researcher, aspiring physician, and visual designer, I’m driven by a simple belief: every patient deserves to understand their health, regardless of language, literacy, or income.
Through my pro bono health design initiative, I partner with nonprofits and clinics to transform complex medical and scientific information into clear, compassionate, accessible resources. My work spans patient guides, infographics, annual reports, and multilingual educational materials.
To date, I’ve collaborated with more than 30 organizations nationwide, saving partners over $90,000 in design costs. More importantly, this work has helped thousands of patients, families, and communities navigate their health with greater confidence, clarity, and dignity.
Every project is designed to bridge the gap between complex medical information and the patients who need it most. Click any project to view the full document.
From hospital systems to grassroots nonprofits, collaborators across the country share how accessible design has elevated their missions and patient outcomes.
I highly recommend Noreen for her exceptional dedication to patient education and health equity. We collaborated on vital preventive health materials—specifically resources for mammograms, FIT tests, and Pap smears. Noreen went above and beyond to ensure these resources were culturally accessible, partnering with translators to make them available in both Korean and Spanish. She is proactive, forward-thinking, and already spearheading plans to expand these crucial materials to include skin cancer prevention and STI testing. Any organization would be lucky to have such a committed and innovative public health advocate on their team.
Noreen is so fabulous in every way! She has an insatiable knowledge and curiosity for learning our subject matter and presents it in a concise, palatable way. Aces all around.
I’ve had the pleasure to work with Noreen on several graphic design projects for Camp Dreamcatcher. She is well organized, responded quickly to our requests, and captured the mission of our organization in every project. The annual report Noreen created for Camp Dreamcatcher brought in over $26,000 in just one month for our organization. I highly recommend Noreen and I am grateful for her support.
My team recently had the pleasure of working with Noreen on the redesign of our program logo. She took time to understand our program and audience, resulting in a new logo that is both visually-engaging and representative of our work. Noreen is incredibly attentive to detail and communicative, creating a smooth design process from start to finish. Throughout the process, Noreen consistently exceeded our expectations and we are so grateful for her time and expertise!
Noreen is a rock star! She took on our request to design our Theory of Change graphic that was drawn from multiple opinions and a complicated narrative — creating a beautiful design that immediately brought to light our vision. What was impressive — beyond her amazing graphic skills, was her patience as we muddled through what we wanted — changing our minds more than once! She was enthusiastic, open minded and a joy to work with. We feel so fortunate. And if you are interested in seeing her work, please ask — it's beautiful.
Noreen worked to help design a new logo for a sports related event at the American Cancer Society. Noreen was very easy to work with and produced a quality logo. Noreen also did all of this under a very tight deadline and without any hesitation. I would recommend Noreen to anyone looking for a designer. She was great to work with.
Noreen is an incredible graphic designer and I could not recommend her highly enough. She diligently listened to our needs and vision as a Catchafire volunteer, and contributed her own design insights and expertise to produce a series of graphics on the circular food economy in a grant application and that we will use on our website. Not only that, she produced these in record time and we were able to include six graphics on a grant application in two weeks! We are 100% satisfied with her work and strongly recommend using Noreen to bring your organization's vision to life.
Whether you're a nonprofit looking for pro bono design support, a clinic needing patient education materials, or a researcher seeking science communication assistance, I'd love to hear from you.
